The Art of Acceptance.
Hey guys, welcome to our September blog post. The first time Im posting on the first of a month š.
I have been lowkey waiting to write my blog post, and I am finally doing it.
The major breaking point for me is the topic. I don't like to pick out random topics and just write. I like to pick a topic that has been on my mind during the month.
And recently, I have been feeling very accepting in nature. So, hence, I am gonna be speaking on the art of acceptance.
Acceptance doesn't happen overnight. It takes time, a lot of time.
It could be your happy acceptance or something followed by a period of grieving, realisation, making peace, and then acceptance.
So, you see, it's a long process, and we are going to be talking about it today.
You know, recently, I was put in this position where I knew I had to accept something, but I just wasn't ready to.
Anything with accepting something is that usually, it's a two-way connection: you accepting something and someone behind it.
I remember when I was put in a position where certain things were revealed to me. I lowkey predicted it, but the fact that it became reality was something that I had a hard time accepting.
And so, the obsession started.
Those late-night thinkings: where did you screw up? Or where did they screw up? And you just turn a blind eye.
Thoughts like, we shouldn't have ever met, be it a romantic or friendship relation.
We have these thoughts, and it's fine to do so.
After the lowkey obsession comes the time where you're questioning others around you to validate your thoughts, before directly going and questioning the person who has put you through this, if you have the courage.
This is the part that we all like to skip, act like it never happened.
Then there will come someone in your life to slap reality on to you. It could be a friend, someone you're going to for advice in secrecy for validation, or sometimes it can just be you yourself.
And that slap won't open your eyes. In fact, you will be ignorant to it.
Because the next step is realising it, and this will come naturally on a random Tuesday. And you will be okay with it. You make your peace with it. It will be hard, but you know it's for the better.
And I kid you not, making peace within is the last step because it is followed by acceptance, and acceptance is peace.
Once you achieve acceptance, you don't go searching for answers that you do not wish to find.
When things end badly, we have that urge to go back to them, to question them, to put them on a pedestal. But do we truly want to know the truth?
Will we be okay to handle the truth?
If you knew that the situation was not serving you, would you still be seeking answers?
The answer is no.
Because sometimes, stories don't have to have an ending. They can just be left in the air.
And that's the thing with us. We don't like to leave things up in the air.
We want a definite answer. I know I want.
And before we realise it, we have spent half of our lifetime searching for an answer rather than just letting things go and focusing on our future, focusing on the present, focusing on the people who are with us currently.
You know, we keep obsessing about the people in our past, okay, obsessing about the future, that we sometimes miss out on our present.
We need to take a moment and appreciate the people that are currently in our life.
It could be that funniest friend group that you have, or that one friend who makes you want to go to college, or someone that just by looking at them and talking to them makes you want to have a good day.
I kid you not, after accepting the thing that was really affecting my life, life has been good.
Because I don't have anything in my power to change the future. No amount of unhealthy obsession or ranting could change the reality.
So, you just, like, sometimes move on.
