Exposing A Toxic Company - Part 1.

Okay guys, so this is an Additional May blog. And because this has happened recently and I wanted to put it out on the internet, so here we go.

Through the whole of April, I was like job hunting 💼, and even the whole of May. I didn't land any job because most of them are like, you need a bachelor's degree in order to be qualified to get the job 🎓. So then I started searching out for internships 🔍. I was like spending an unhealthy amount of time on LinkedIn and Indeed 📱, and finally, there was this one person who reached out to me on WhatsApp 💬.

So in the last week of April, they were like, "You can come and meet me in my office," and I ghosted them 👻. Fast forward to the second week of May, I wrote back to them and they were like, "Yes, you can still come in for the interview." 📝 So I told my parents about it and they were like, "Go for it." 🙌

Firstly, the location is very far from my house 🗺️. Like I am talking an entire metro end 🚇, switching my metro, going on another line, and then from that stop, it's like a 40 minutes walk.

Nonetheless, my point is that it's not close by. 🧭 Okay, so my interview was good. They were like, "When can you come in?" and I was like, "Wednesday." 🗓️ So they were like, "Ok, cool, you can join in from Wednesday." 👍

So Wednesday came, the big day ✨. My job timings were from 11:30 to 6:30 p.m. ⏰ And as I said, it was not close by to my house and there was so much travelling to do 😫. I had to leave my house at 9:30 in the morning and I was coming home like at 8:30 or 8:45 in the night 🌙. So this was all about my travelling stuff. 🎒

Now, let's EXPOSE the company 💣.

Firstly, I want to say that I hope nobody joins this cuck company because it's a marketing and PR agency, but it's actually a call centre 📞. So this company is basically for collabs with people for music events (mainly) 🎶. And our job is to basically get in touch with them and make a deal with them 🤝. Now, me being an intern, my job role was to find out people who collab with marketing and PR firms and basically make a deal with them.

So I remember my first day, which was chaotic by the way 🤯. I was expected to search phone numbers of different areas of departments like music events 🎵, clothing stores 🛍️, food and beverage stores 🍔, alcoholic stores 🍾, and basically make an Excel sheet about their information like the phone number, email ID, etc 💻. And this part was fine, you know. Then they were like, "You have to start calling up these people." 📞 So basically, the numbers that I collected, I had to start calling them and I had to keep a script ready 📜 so that when they picked up my call, I had, you know, to introduce myself and basically make a deal with them. I was like, "This is not the marketing that I wanted to do," 🙄 but okay, sure.

So I started calling people, and a few didn't answer 📵. On my first day, I did around 60 to 74 calls 📞. I'm not even kidding you, these are random people that I have called, and I have my call log as proof 📱. Nonetheless, that was all about my first day. 🌇

My second day, and this was the day that was just the last straw 🪵. The day started off well. The person in charge of me and making sure I am doing my work properly told me that all the emails that I have collected, I need to start mailing them 📧. And I was fine with this job; it was pretty fun just to copy-paste and send them 💻. There was no calling involved, so it was fun. So I sent around 33 emails and I was like, "I am all done." 🎉 But it was just like 1:00 p.m. and my job gets over at 6:30, as I said. ⏰

But that was the time when our boss walks in. First of all, when he walked in, I didn't even have any clue that he was the boss 👀 because you think the boss would be in a little more formal attire, but this guy wasn't 👕. Any which way, after a few minutes, the person who took my interview, which by the way was also an intern, tells me that I would need to go into the boss's office 🏢 because he wants to talk to me since I was recently hired. I was like, "Okay." 🤔 It was very sudden.

Anyway, I walk into his office 🚪, and so is the person who hired me, and we were just sitting in his office. He was asking my name, and what I am doing, and college, when I told him 🎓.

Then he was like, "Since you got up, tell me 10 brands that you have seen on the way to here." 🏪 So I named like around 4 and then I was like, "Okay, wait, let me think." 🧠 It was a very random question, so I kinda got taken aback.

Then he was like, "Do you know this musician?" 🎤 And I swear to God, he told me some random Hindi artist 🎶. Now, I know I am an Indian, but I am not into Hindi music, I am not into all this Bollywood crap 🚫. Okay, I was born in the wrong country, I admit it, but doesn't mean I am going to blend in with this BS 🙄. So I was like, "I don't listen to Hindi songs and I don't prefer Hindi movies either." 🙅‍♀️ He was like, "So what do you watch?" I was like, "English." 🎬 (Like, duhh bro 💁‍♀️). And he gave the most dramatic sigh 😮‍💨.

Then he was like, "Do you know what the company does?" So I gave him my answer and he was like, "Ok."

Then he calls in the other intern who has been around for a few months, and he called her in while I was in his office 👥. And he was like, "What's the report on this upcoming event?" 📋 And she was like, "I tried calling them but they wouldn't pick up." 📵 And then he was like, "You need to keep calling them. You are so useless. Anyways, let me show you how it's done." 😠 And this guy, he calls this person up and the person picks up, and they just set a deal 📞. And then he looks at me and he is like, "I don't know why I hired these people." 🙄

Dude, you are a man of power. You run the company. You call anyone up, they are picking up your call because you are the boss 👑. An unknown person from your company is calling them, they are not going to entertain them. But you, you have fame. ⭐ Obviously, you're going to get the respect.

Okay guys so that is also part 1 I hope you guys are ready for part 2 because that's when things get crazy.
